And what happens next? Jean-Paul Pastor Guzmán notes these snippets of conversation in his notebook, along with the place and time and the presumed age and gender of the speakers. The clear form and minimalism of the texts allow us to put ourselves in completely different perspectives. Our imagination is set in motion: who are these people? What do they look like, what is their background? How did the story begin, and how does it continue?

Sometimes the two-liners give rise to little stories in our minds, others function like a quote from a celebrity, a calendar saying or a joke. Taken as a whole, however, the text fragments become something more: they poetically paint a picture of social discourse in recent years. Last but not least, they invite us to go out ourselves, prick up our ears and listen in."
